Welcome to the
Theater Department
of Mason City Schools
Welcome to the online home of the Mason High School and Mason Middle School Theater Departments. Both schools are part of the Mason City School District located in Mason, Ohio.
Over 300 students a year study Acting and Technical Theater Courses of Mason High School, and almost 150 students participate in our extra-curricular theater program to produce high quality plays that reach an audience of over 5,000 people each year.
We are also members of the Educational Theater Association and participate in the Cappies Program of Greater Cincinnati.
It is our philosophy that the study of theater not only enhances our students’ ability to perform, but teaches them to better understand the human condition, to work in groups, how to focus and concentrate, and the importance of meeting deadlines.
We also strive in to instill in all of our students a love of theater and to encourage them to be lifelong patrons of the arts.
